What we collect, and why

We collect only what the store actually needs to work. In practice that is:

Order information — your name, email address, telephone number, billing and delivery address, the items ordered and the order history. We need this to accept, process, ship and support your order, and to raise an invoice.
Payment information — payment is processed by our payment provider. Ambimat does not receive or store your card number, CVV or other card credentials. We receive confirmation of whether a payment succeeded, and the transaction reference.
Account information — if you create an account, the email address and password you set. Passwords are stored only as a cryptographic hash, never in readable form.
Enquiries — if you contact us or request a quotation, whatever you put in the message, so that we can reply.
Technical and usage information — your IP address, browser type, pages viewed, referring page and timestamps. This is collected by our web server logs and, subject to your cookie choice, by analytics.

We do not ask for and do not want sensitive personal information. Please do not send it to us.

Emails we send about an order are transactional — order confirmations, dispatch notices, invoices and replies to your enquiry. We do not send marketing email from this store.

Cookies and analytics

This website does use cookies. They fall into two groups:

Necessary — cookies that make the shop work, such as remembering the contents of your cart, keeping you signed in, and page caching. These cannot be switched off without breaking the store.
Analytics — Google Analytics 4, used to understand how the store is used. These only run if you accept them. You can accept or reject analytics when you first visit, and you can change your choice at any time using the "Cookie preferences" link in the footer.

If you reject analytics, analytics cookies are not set and measurement is limited to non-identifying signals.

Who we share information with

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for anyone else's marketing. We do share it where the order cannot be completed otherwise:

Our payment provider, to take and verify payment.
Shipping and logistics providers, and customs authorities, to deliver your order and clear it for import where applicable.
Google Analytics, where you have accepted analytics cookies.
Our hosting and email providers, who process data on our instructions in order to run the site and send order email.
Professional advisers, auditors and authorities, where we are legally required to disclose, or where it is necessary to establish or defend a legal claim, or to prevent fraud.

If you click a social sharing button, that action takes you to a third-party site with its own privacy policy. We do not control those sites.

Transfers outside India

Some of the providers above operate internationally, so your information may be processed outside India. Where that happens we rely on the provider's contractual data-protection terms.

How long we keep it

Enquiries and contact-form submissions — 24 months from the last contact, then deleted.
Orders, invoices and payment records — kept for as long as we are required to keep accounting and tax records under applicable law, and for the period in which a claim relating to the order could still be brought.
Account records — kept while your account is open. Ask us to close it and we will delete it, apart from order records we must retain under the line above.
Server logs — kept for a short operational period for security and troubleshooting.
Analytics — retained according to the analytics retention setting, and only where you accepted analytics.

Your choices

You can ask us to give you a copy of the personal information we hold about you, correct it if it is wrong, delete it where we are not required to keep it, or withdraw a consent you previously gave. You can change your cookie choice at any time from the footer link.

To make a request, email support@ambimat.com. We may need to verify who you are before we act, so that we do not disclose your information to someone else.

Security

The site is served over HTTPS, passwords are stored hashed, and access to order data is restricted to people who need it. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and email in particular is not a secure channel — please do not send card details or passwords by email. We will never ask you for them.

Children

This store sells electronics to businesses and to adult buyers. It is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
